ADA Locks

ADA, or Americans with Disabilities Act is a law enacted by congress in 1990 that prohibits discrimination of any kind on the basis of disability. ADA compliance includes a set of guildines to make sure commercial buildings and services are accessible by everyone. ADA compliance as it pertains to door hardware generally has to do with the design of the door hardware. For example, commercial door levers are required to be designed in a manner that is easily operated by those with disabilities, including lever size, projection from the door, etc. ADA compliance is required in new construction and many older buildings have been converted to comply.
